I've been contacted by Warren McCabe-Smith from Cradley Heath in England, about an auction of community artists' portraits of Patrick where all proceeds will go to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. Here is his message and enclosed press article with more information and a picture of the volunteers at the gallery with their work.

"My name is Warren McCabe-Smith and I'm an artist based in England. I am part of a volunteer group at The Art Yard Gallery. We have an art exhibition whereby our community of artists have made artwork based on Patrick entitled 'The Paint Patrick Project'.
We have teamed up with the 'Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund' and hope to raise much needed funds for the charity.
We hope to auction off works starting Monday evening with 100% of bids going to charity. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This book would be a wonderful gift for anyone who is a fan of Patrick and his work. It's full of interviews and quotes from Patrick and the many, many people who worked with Patrick and also some of those who had the good fortune to know and meet him at some point in his life.
Sue has done an excellent job of shining a light on Patrick as a wonderful human being. Her book shows a side of Patrick that reveals him as a true visionary, a man with dreams. Patrick pursued his dreams all his life and encouraged others to do the very same. Reading it, I had a tear in my eye at many points in the book and I also found myself nodding at a lot of the stories and interviews contained therein. Fabulous work, Sue.

Sue Tabashnik has been in touch to say there is a final revision of the fundraising campaign for Joshua Sinclair's film project HANNAH. Sue has sent this from Joshua:
"Since we want everyone to be able to take part in this wonderful project dedicated to Patrick, we are making it more accessible to all by adjusting the project plan. The movie is dedicated to Patrick and a portion of the proceeds will go to Patrick's Stanford fund and to abused women and children."
We have had an update from Joshua Sinclair via Sue Tabashnik about the movie HANNAH, which will be dedicated to Patrick. Here is Sue:
"VERY EXCITING NEWS! Joshua Sinclair, director, writer, producer of JUMP! is dedicating his new movie, HANNAH to Patrick. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Patrick's Stanford fund and to abused women and children.
There is an amazing opportunity if you would like to be an investor in the movie. Invest a minimum of $250.00 and you receive:
(1) 20% return on your investment by March 30, 2015,
(2) a screen credit as an associate producer,
(3) an opportunity to be on the set.
More perks for investors: A pro rate percentage of the net profits of the film for all investments of over $5000.00. All investors receive still photos of the filming autographed by Joshua Sinclair, Vittorio Storaro, Ennio Morricone, and Emilio Lari.

Nigel Sullivan from Ohio University, USA has been in touch about his fraternity's fundraising event in March to raise money for pancreatic cancer research through the Lustgarten Foundation. To find out more about this event, please read Nigel's message below:
"I just wanted to send you an email personally reminding you of my fraternity's philanthropy event in March.
This year will mark the 6th annual 5cacia 5K race presented by Acacia Fraternity to raise money for pancreatic cancer research through the Lustgarten Foundation. An estimated 44,030 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the U.S., and over 37,660 will die from the disease (American Cancer Society).
My fraternity chose to support this cause after the passing of Alumni Brother Justin Baldinger's grandmother from the cancerous disease. Since then, we have raised over $100,000 and settling as the largest funding philanthropy in Greek Life.
Our plan is to continue this great event, and raise as much money for cancer research as we can! Last year we raised over $13,000 from all the help and the only way we can achieve our goal this year is with your support. 18th August 2012 would have been Patrick's 60th birthday. To commemorate this special day, please hug someone close to you, and to those you love, tell them you do, while they are still with you.
Our love and thoughts go to Lisa and all of the family. We want to quote Patrick's own words from he and Lisa's book "The Time of My Life".
"When those you love die, the best you can do is honor their spirit for as long as you live. You make a commitment that you're going to take whatever lesson that person or animal was trying to teach you, and you make it true in your own life. Their having been in your life changed you in some beneficial way, and making that commitment is the only way you can ease the pain of their absence. But more than that, it's a positive way to keep their spirit alive in the world, by keeping it alive in yourself."
We miss you Patrick and we will remember your kind heart, your laughter and all the happiness and joy you brought to your fans world wide.

Wonderful news of a Deluxe Anniversary Edition of the Dirty Dancing soundtrack which will be available "everywhere" on 25th September. RCA/Legacy Recordings which is a division of Sony Music Entertainment have announced in a press release:
"Responding to the feedback from loyal fans around the world, Legacy Recordings presents DIRTY DANCING: THE DELUXE ANNIVERSARY EDITION, which presents the original 12-song album of 1987, along with new bonus features. This special commemorative project reflects Legacy's direct survey of a portion of the millions of Dirty Dancing fans on Facebook who responded and wished to maintain the experience of the original release by showcasing the original running order of the album as it was first released, without bonus tracks."

"To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the movie, Dirty Dancing, I am writing a second book. The book will be Part Two of: The FANS' LOVE STORY: How The Movie 'DIRTY DANCING' Captured The Hearts Of Millions!

She will be one of the judges on BBC1's "Strictly Come Dancing" on 5th and 6th November, standing in for judge Len Goodman who will miss the show for one week. We send our love to Lisa and all of Patrick's family, our thoughts are with you. Please remember all the happy times, the fun times and the times he made you smile. Patrick is still very much missed.
