ABOUT THE FAN CLUB- updated January 2012
Thank you for your interest in the Official Patrick Swayze International Fan Club.
Although we no longer operate a postal fan club, we maintain this website in honour of Patrick. We would like to tell you a little bit about ourselves.
THE CLUB STORY
The Club was founded by a group of German fans in 1990.
Since July 1993 we had Official Approval from Patrick and his wife Lisa - also an artist/dancer - for
the whole of Europe, so we were called the Official Patrick Swayze & Lisa Niemi Fan Club Europe. In
December 1998, Patrick and Lisa asked us to become International, and then our name became the Official
Patrick Swayze International Fan Club.
You can read more about our Club's history in an article that was written by one of our members for
our August 2000 magazine. Click this link http://www.patrickswayze.net/clubstory.htm to read the article.
The subscription fees we used to charge for a Postal Membership (Swayze Buddy) of the Official Fan Club were the
actual cost of producing the magazines, photos and updates etc and their mailing out, that you received for
your membership every year. The Official Fan Club is still totally non-profit-making and is run on a volunteer
basis by fans, for fans and we maintain this website in honour of Patrick.
Although we no longer produce printed magazines or materials, we still have a short supply of some back issues of our printed magazines which are available to purchase. If you would like to see our list of those issues still available, please e-mail us at: firstname.lastname@example.org .
We received the most up-to-date information from Patrick and Lisa and their Personal staff, that means that what is written in our Magazines is genuine and true.
We also featured exclusive photos in the Fan Club Magazine. We do not sell merchandise.
Our Magazine was issued 3 times a year and included all kinds of articles about Patrick and we also featured Lisa, his lovely wife. We had a News page with up to the minute information from Rancho Bizarro, a photospecial with photos from the United States, "on the set" reports, news and a "readers corner" where you could request penfriends and read about the Members of the Fan Club.
