GENERAL NEWS ARCHIVE
Thursday 18th July 2002: Thank you to Official Fan Club member Andrea Kraft
who has written and told us about The Outsiders being released on DVD next year
to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the release of the film.
Andrea says: "I was just reading my July 12 Entertainment Weekly. They have a thing
in there about "The Outsiders." They were saying that next year with be the 20th
anniversary of it's release. The director is working on a DVD rerelease--set for
spring. There will be 40 mintues of footage restored. Sounds like the story of the
brothers will be beefed up. More Patrick!! Sounds pretty cool." Thanks Andrea!
This is a wonderful piece of news to all of Patrick's fans! The film is a true "rites
of passage" story and judging by the mail that we receive about it here at the Official
Fan Club from students, it is on the study curriculum of many High Schools all over the
world. We'll keep you posted on the progress of the plans for The Outsiders DVD.
Patrick and Lisa attended Paramount Pictures 90th anniversary celebration on
July 14 at Paramount Studios in Hollywood. Patrick said he had a wonderful time,
and that he was able to see a lot of people that he´s worked with in the past.

Netherlands has told us that a Dutch magazine had a contest. You could win a movie ticket
to see Donnie Darko and a t-shirt! She won both! She is now the proud owner of the t-shirt
which says "DARK, DARKEST, DARKO" and then on the back it says Donnie Darko. Hope you enjoy
the movie Marie-anne!!
Monday 24th June 2002: Donnie Darko is in cinemas in the Netherlands!!
All you lucky people over in Holland - go see this film, it is amazing! Thank
you to Angelique de Kroon for letting us know this good news!!
Monday 24th June 2002: As we reported in our Summer Update mailed out to Official Fan Club members on 13th June,
- "They (Patrick and Lisa) had a bit of a scare at the end of May. They were both alerted
by one of the staff on the ranch at New Mexico that there was a forest fire on a part of
their land. They both went there right away with the staff member and tried to put out the
flames using shovels. Patrick sent the worker for water to extinguish the fire, all the time
putting into practice fire fighting techniques he remembered from training. .....the worker
went for help, which left Patrick and Lisa fighting the fire themselves. The fire was well
away from their ranch house and their horses, thankfully. The Fire Department arrived as they
finally managed to put out the fire. Thankfully no-one was injured and Patrick and Lisa are safe
and well!"
Patrick and Lisa are safe and well after tackling that fire on their Ranch in May. They came back home
to Los Angeles last weekend and are now visiting friends.
Tuesday 28th May 2002: Actor Sean Kanan of The Bold and The Beautiful was recently
interviewed by TV Guide, about among other things his recent trip to Italy and the
Telegatti awards. Here is what he had to say about the experience:
"They are huge B&B fans over there. Italians fans are so zealous, and they love the show.
They had an amazing turnout. I didn't know who the other presenters were going to be. I thought
it was going to be a couple of people from the Italian soaps. Turns out it's Patrick Swayze,
Peter O'Toole, Sean Connery, Matt Dillon and [opera singer] Andreas Bocelli. Pretty good company
to be in. It was such a thrill to meet Sean Connery and Peter O'Toole. I've been a fan of Lawrence
of Arabia forever. This girl came up and asked to take my picture. I said, "You've got to be kidding.
With these guys standing behind me, you want to take my picture?" I got to walk up to Patrick Swayze
and tell him, "No one puts Baby in a corner." He's a great guy, and he has a good sense of humor."
Friday 17th May 2002: One of our Official Fan Club members, Angelique de Kroon has

being held at the same time as the release of "Dirty Dancing" on DVD in The Netherlands -
available from 8th May 2002 - so if you are unlucky in the competition - you can buy your
