Col. Rhodes (Gene Hackman) believes his son, Frank, is still alive and being held prisoner in a Laos POW Camp.
Five years after his son's capture, he enlists the help of Scott (Patrick) to retrain a group of Frank's
ex-comrades to infiltrate Vietnam and rescue him. The Colonelīs determination to find his son is very moving,
never allowing any setbacks to stop him from carrying out the rescue mission. Each of the Vietnam-Vets has his
own talents to give to the venture, and the characters soon learn to work together to achieve their goal.
